Sarah Marinescu

Musical Director, Charnwood Symphonic Wind Orchestra

Sarah hails from Leicestershire and has had a hugely varied career as a performer and conductor. Primarily a violinist, she has also studied piano and clarinet.

Sarah graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Music and followed this up with conducting studies throughout her career including being awarded a distinction in her FRSM Diploma in Music Direction.

Sarah served for 22 years in British Army Music, firstly as a musician and later as a Director of Music. Career highlights include numerous overseas tours, the Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace and the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle. She continues to serve as a reservist officer in RAF Music Services.

Sarah returned to the local area after leaving the British Army and continues to conduct, to perform as a freelance violinist all over the UK; and perform with her quartet at Scenarium Strings.
